How to qualify. To be able to get married in a parish Church you need to have a ‘qualifying connection’. If you live in Bransgore, Hinton or Thorney Hill; if you’ve ever lived here or a close relative lives here; if you worship in one of our churches and have done so for a period of six months or more; if you were baptised here; if these apply then you have a qualifying connection. If not, and if you have enough time before your wedding, you can create a qualifying connection to us by attending regularly for a period – it’s a good idea to discuss this with the vicar first.
St Mary’s Church is a practical building with great parking, just opposite the Three Tuns pub in Bransgore. It can hold 120 people comfortably and has a small hall with an industry standard kitchen that would suit a smaller informal wedding reception too.
All Saints Church, Thorney Hill (pictured at the top) is a very pretty, grade 1 listed building right on the edge of the Forest. It houses some nationally significant arts and crafts artwork and must be seen to be believed! It can hold up to 80 people.
St Michael and All Angels Church is the one in Hinton on the A35! It is our most popular Church for weddings and it’s not hard to see why. A chocolate box church approached through an avenue of trees, full of Victorian charm (though it’s actually Georgian). It can hold up to 110 people and is near the Old Vicarage and the East Close Hotel, two great local reception venues.
